Lights And Sound

As you might expect, lights and sound are a very crucial part of having a theater. GTL has been blessed with very knowledgeable people over the years to get us to where we are, but as with all things, technology ages over time.

Our lighting systems in some cases are coming up on 20 years old and as such it is time to begin looking for updates and upgrades. Some upgrades have already been acquired, but more remains.

Phase 1: Lightboard ($2,600) – this allows us to control what lights turn on and off and in which order.

Phase 2: Dimmers ($7,600) – these handy devices connect to the light board and change how bright or dim any given light may be.

Phase 3: Light Fixtures ($30,000) – the main part of any lighting system and currently we have over 30 lights on the stage. We are looking to eventually be able to move from halogen lights to LED color changing lighting systems to replace our aging systems. This price includes cabling, mounting and everything one might expect.

Completed Projects:

  • Soundboard – Controls the levels of sound in the theater. Replaced in part to a $2,000 donation from MFA Foundation
  • Amplifier – Provides sound and power to our speakers. One was recently donated by our friends at the Gallatin First Christian Church.
  • Stage Monitors – Speakers that allow the actors to hear the music and sound effects. Donated by a community patron member
